The YGEA committee would like to personally invite you to be a guest at this year’s YGEA Awards which will be held on Saturday, September 25th at Morehouse College’s Dr. Martin Luther King Chapel. Please accept our humble invitation to be a part of history as some of the most respected individuals in entertainment will grace the stage.
Founded in 2007 by President and CEO, Silver Benson, the YGEA Award’s vision is to provide young entertainers, designers, and dancers with an avenue to showcase their anointed gifts and to serve as a platform for positive entertainment. Ms. Benson, states, “We represent what most people won’t: Independent, Underground, Positive, and Inspirational Talent.” We expose and promote all genres of music and all forms of entertainment.
It is YGEA Award’s goal to serve as a mechanism to offer young people hope in fulfilling their dreams and aspirations. She goes on to say, “We exemplify the character of the ‘Most High’ and show young people that they are noticed, appreciated, and play a very important role in shaping the future. We are committed to making a lasting impression that will permeate to other youth and peers. The YGEA Awards is the place where the street and the faithful meet.” We provide ‘positive entertainment that serves a purpose’.
Awards will be given to recipients who have made positive contributions to their community through their steadfast involvement in uplifting people through their talents.
Also, select Community Leaders/Youth Pastors/Directors are selected every year to receive a Visionary Award based on their community involvement and vision to impact the youth.
As the YGEA Awards continue to grow, new categories will be added to offer youth more opportunities to fulfill their dreams. This year we have partnered with Industry Veterans and Professionals who have an extensive background with working with positive mainstream talent. This relationship will afford us an opportunity to expand our wings and take The YGEA Awards to the next level in its mission to fulfill our goals.
